Meta Quest 3 and 3S Price in India: Where to Buy

Meta Quest 3 and 3S Price in India: Where to Buy

Quick answer: the Meta Quest 3 512GB costs about ₹77,500 on Amazon.in and the Quest 3S about ₹45,000. For most people the 3S is the one to buy.

The Meta Quest 3 price in India is about ₹77,500 for the 512GB model on Amazon.in, and the cheaper Quest 3S sits at about ₹45,000. Meta doesn’t sell the Quest here directly, so both come in from the US, and the Amazon.in prices land within a few thousand rupees of what an import costs once duty is added.

The two headsets share the same chip and the same game library. The difference is the lenses, the field of view and the storage, and that gap costs about ₹32,500 on Amazon.in. Below is what each one costs, how I’d buy it, what setup in India involves, and which one I’d pick.

Meta Quest 3 price in India

Meta sells the Quest 3 512GB for $599.99 in the US, the Quest 3S 128GB for $349.99 and the 3S 256GB for $449.99. At about ₹94.5 to the dollar, the Quest 3 is roughly ₹56,700 and the 3S 128GB roughly ₹33,100. Personal imports pay about 31% in customs duty and IGST, which brings them to about ₹74,300 and ₹43,300 delivered. Amazon US adds that duty to the checkout total. Amazon.in at ₹77,500 and ₹45,000 is close to those numbers and saves you the two-week wait.

Meta Quest 3

The one to buy if image quality is the reason you want VR.

Pros

  • Pancake lenses that stay sharp edge to edge
  • Wider field of view than the 3S, about 110 degrees
  • Higher-resolution colour passthrough
  • 512GB of storage as standard

Cons

  • About $250 more than the 3S 128GB at US prices
  • The LCD panel has no true blacks
  • Battery lasts about 2 hours in demanding games

The Quest 3 uses pancake lenses and runs at 2064×2208 per eye, against 1832×1920 on the 3S. Its field of view is about 110 degrees, against about 96 on the cheaper headset. UploadVR’s review praised the edge-to-edge clarity and the better passthrough, and noted that the LCD panel can’t show true blacks. The IPD range is 58 to 70 mm, and the Touch Plus controllers take replaceable batteries.

Meta dropped the 128GB Quest 3, so it now comes only as the 512GB model, which is plenty for a big game library. The 5,060 mAh battery gives about 2 hours in demanding games, so I’d budget for a battery strap or keep a power bank in reach. My laptop power bank picks are a good place to start.

At about ₹77,500, Amazon.in costs a little more than my ₹74,300 import estimate, and you get the headset in days instead of two weeks. That trade is worth it to me.

Meta Quest 3S

My pick for most people. Same chip and same games as the Quest 3 for much less.

Pros

  • Same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and game library as the Quest 3
  • Cheapest way into Meta’s standalone VR
  • Colour passthrough with a dedicated passthrough button
  • Road to VR called it the best value in VR

Cons

  • Fresnel lenses give more glare and a smaller sweet spot
  • Battery lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours
  • The soft strap gets uncomfortable on long sessions
  • 128GB fills quickly

The 3S has the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 as the Quest 3 and plays every Quest game. Road to VR called it the best value in VR. What you give up is lens quality: the Fresnel lenses look softer, with more glare and a smaller sweet spot than the Quest 3’s pancake lenses. It also skips the proximity sensor and the 3.5 mm jack, and the soft strap is less comfortable on long sessions.

The Amazon.in listing is the 128GB model at about ₹45,000, close to my ₹43,300 import estimate. Road to VR and forum owners say 128GB fills quickly, so if you plan to install a lot of big games, the 256GB version is worth the extra. Meta sells it for $449.99 in the US, about ₹55,700 imported.

The 4,324 mAh battery gave about 2.5 hours in standard games and about 2 in demanding ones in Android Central’s testing. The Quest 3 dock doesn’t charge a 3S, so buy accessories made for the 3S.

How to buy the Meta Quest 3 in India

Option 1: Amazon.in

Amazon.in lists both headsets, and it’s the quickest way to get one. You get Indian delivery in a few days, an Indian invoice and Amazon’s replacement window. Open the listing, check the storage size, and compare the price with the Amazon US total below.

Option 2: Amazon US

This is how I order most of my gadgets. Here’s how it goes:

  1. Set your delivery address on Amazon.com to your Indian address. The product page then tells you right away whether that listing ships to India.
  2. Pick an offer at or near Meta’s list price: $599.99 for the Quest 3, $349.99 or $449.99 for the 3S.
  3. At checkout, Amazon adds shipping and an import fee deposit. The total on that screen is what you pay.
  4. When the parcel reaches India, the courier sends an SMS and an email with a KYC link. On my orders that was Aramex. Upload your Aadhaar or PAN and that step is done.
  5. The headset reaches your door in about 10 to 15 days from the order.

If the US page says it can’t ship to your address, use the Amazon.in listing instead. I’ve written up every step in how I buy gadgets from Amazon US.

Setting it up in India

Setup runs through your Meta account, and the Meta Store is where you buy games. If the store doesn’t accept your Indian card, Indian owners on the Meta forums buy the game from a second account and gift it to their main one, and that gets you playing.

Both headsets charge over USB-C. A unit from the US comes with a US plug, so use a plug adapter, or charge from a good USB-C PD charger with an Indian plug. Battery life is the thing to plan around: at about 2 to 2.5 hours, a battery strap or a power bank is worth adding to the order.

Alternatives you can buy in India

The PlayStation VR2 is sold officially in India and launched at ₹57,990. It needs a PS5, so it only makes sense if you already have one.

If what you really want is portable gaming rather than VR, the Nintendo Switch 2 is about ₹60,000 on Amazon.in, and the Steam Deck OLED is the handheld for a Steam library. Both are ranked in my best handheld gaming consoles in India guide.

Warranty and support

Meta doesn’t run service centres in India, so the maker’s warranty stays with the country of purchase. A faulty headset goes back through Amazon instead: Amazon.in orders come with a replacement window, and an Amazon US order refunds the import fee deposit on a defective item. Keep the box and invoice until you’ve tested the headset properly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Meta Quest 3 price in India?

About ₹77,500 for the 512GB on Amazon.in. Importing it from Amazon US at the $599.99 list price comes to about ₹74,300 with duty.

What is the Meta Quest 3S price in India?

About ₹45,000 for the 128GB on Amazon.in. The 256GB costs $449.99 in the US, which lands at about ₹55,700 with duty.

Does the Meta Quest 3 work in India?

Yes. You set it up with a Meta account like anywhere else, and it charges over USB-C, so a plug adapter or an Indian USB-C PD charger is all you need. If your card isn’t accepted on the Meta Store, gifting from a second account works.

Should I buy the Quest 3S or the Quest 3 in India?

The 3S for most people. It has the same chip and the same games for about ₹32,500 less on Amazon.in. Pick the Quest 3 if you want sharper lenses, a wider view and 512GB.

How long does the Meta Quest battery last?

About 2 to 2.5 hours. Android Central measured about 2.5 hours in standard games on the 3S and about 2 in demanding ones, and the Quest 3 is similar.

Verdict

Buy the Quest 3S if you’re new to VR. It plays everything the Quest 3 does, and at about ₹45,000 on Amazon.in it’s the cheapest good way in. Pay about ₹77,500 for the Quest 3 only if image quality is the reason you want VR. Amazon.in is within a few thousand rupees of an import for both, so I’d buy here and be playing in a few days.
