reMarkable Paper Pro in India: Price, Where to Buy, Worth It

reMarkable Paper Pro in India: Price, Where to Buy, Worth It

Quick answer: the reMarkable Paper Pro costs about ₹65,000 on Amazon.in with the Marker Plus pen, sold by reMarkable India. Importing it costs more once duty is added, so buy it here.

The reMarkable Paper Pro is the easiest big e-ink notebook to buy in India, because the maker sells it here itself. reMarkable India lists it on Amazon.in, so you get Indian delivery, an Indian invoice and a local seller, with no import to arrange. It has an 11.8-inch colour screen, comes with the Marker Plus pen in the bundle, and has the best paper-like writing feel of any tablet in Stark Insider’s tests.

It’s also expensive, and it isn’t for everyone. There’s no bookstore, and some features sit behind a subscription. Below is what it costs, why buying locally beats importing, how the smaller Paper Pro Move fits in, and whether it’s worth the money next to a Kindle Scribe.

reMarkable Paper Pro price in India

On Amazon.in, the Paper Pro bundle with the Marker Plus pen is about ₹65,000, and a bundle that adds the Book Folio cover is about ₹79,000. The same Marker Plus bundle is $679 on Amazon US. At about ₹94.5 to the dollar that’s roughly ₹64,200 before anything else. Add the roughly 31% that personal imports pay in customs duty and IGST, and the US route comes to around ₹84,000. Amazon US adds that duty to the checkout total, but even the pre-duty dollar price is the same as the Indian one. So the maths is simple: buy it on Amazon.in.

reMarkable Paper Pro

The best e-ink notebook you can buy in India without importing. Made for writing, not for reading ebooks.

Pros

  • Sold on Amazon.in by reMarkable India
  • 11.8-inch Canvas Color screen, a Gallery 3 colour e-ink panel at 229 ppi
  • The most paper-like writing feel in Stark Insider’s tests
  • Marker Plus pen in the bundle

Cons

  • No bookstore, so you load your own files
  • Some ghosting when you change pages
  • Some features need a Connect subscription
  • Costs more than a Kindle Scribe

The screen is the reason to buy it. At 11.8 inches it’s a generous page, and the colour panel shows roughly 20,000 colours. That isn’t a photo screen. It’s for coloured pens, highlights and diagrams, and for that it works well. Stark Insider rated the writing feel the best it has tested, which matches the Paper Pro’s reputation as a notebook first.

The trade-offs are on the reading side. There’s no store to buy books from, so you move files in through the reMarkable app or cloud sync. Stark Insider also found it slower to refresh than the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, with some ghosting on page changes. If you mostly write, plan and sketch, none of that gets in the way.

reMarkable Paper Pro Move

The same reMarkable idea in a 7.3-inch size that fits in a bag pocket.

Pros

  • 7.3-inch colour e-ink screen
  • Marker Plus pen in the bundle
  • Same reMarkable software and sync as the Paper Pro
  • Has its own Amazon.in page from reMarkable

Cons

  • A small page for long writing sessions
  • No bookstore

The Move is for people who want a reMarkable they’ll actually carry: to meetings, on a train, in a small bag. You lose page area, so it suits lists, meeting notes and quick sketches more than long-form writing or big PDFs.

Amazon US lists it at about $499, which is around ₹62,000 delivered with duty. Indian importer stores start at about ₹65,000. reMarkable has an Amazon.in page for it too, and that’s where I’d look first, for the same reason as the Paper Pro: a local seller at a local price.

Is the reMarkable Paper Pro worth it?

Yes, if you write more than you read. It’s the nicest writing surface in e-ink, it’s sold here by the maker, and it costs no more in India than in the US. Students who rewrite lecture notes, people who plan their week by hand, and anyone who sketches diagrams at work will use it every day.

It’s a harder sell if reading comes first. The Kindle Scribe has the Kindle store and a front light, and it lands at around ₹62,000 when you import it. I’ve put the two side by side in Kindle Scribe vs reMarkable Paper Pro.

How to buy the reMarkable Paper Pro in India

Option 1: Amazon.in

This is the one I’d use. reMarkable launched in India through Amazon.in with the reMarkable 2, and reMarkable India now sells the Paper Pro there too. Pick the bundle you want, Marker Plus alone or with the Book Folio, and it arrives in a few days with an Indian invoice and Amazon’s return window.

Option 2: Amazon US

For the Paper Pro, Amazon US only makes sense if the US price drops a long way. For the Move, it’s a real option. Here’s how an order goes:

  1. Set your delivery address on Amazon.com to your Indian address. The product page then tells you whether that listing ships to India.
  2. Pick an offer sold by reMarkable at or near the list price.
  3. At checkout, Amazon adds shipping and an import fee deposit. The total on that screen is what you pay.
  4. When the parcel reaches India, the courier sends an SMS and an email with a KYC link. On my orders that was Aramex. Upload your Aadhaar or PAN and that step is done.
  5. The tablet reaches your door in about 10 to 15 days from the order.

If the US page says it can’t ship to your address, use the Amazon.in listing instead. The full process is in how I buy gadgets from Amazon US.

Setting it up in India

You create a reMarkable account during setup and install the reMarkable app on your phone or laptop. That’s how files get onto the tablet: drop in PDFs and documents through the app or cloud sync, and your handwritten notes sync back the same way. The tablet works without a subscription. Connect, reMarkable’s paid plan, adds extra features on top, so check what’s included before you sign up.

If you’d rather draw in full colour on a screen, a pen display from my drawing tablets list does that better than any e-ink device. And if you want handwriting plus a full laptop, look at my convertible laptops with a stylus.

Alternatives you can buy in India

The reMarkable 2 is the cheaper way into reMarkable. The Essentials bundle is about ₹44,000 on Amazon.in. It’s monochrome with no front light, but the writing experience is the same idea. reMarkable also makes the Paper Pure, a 10.3-inch monochrome model listed on Amazon US.

If you want Android apps alongside your notes, the Boox Note Air6 C has a 10.3-inch colour screen and a pen in the box. I cover it in my Boox tablets in India guide. If you want the purest writing tool with no colour and no front light, see my Supernote in India guide.

My full ranking is in best e-ink tablet in India, where the Paper Pro is my pick for the best one you can buy on Amazon.in.

Warranty and support

Buy from reMarkable India on Amazon.in and the warranty is handled in India by the maker’s own Indian arm. Amazon’s return window also covers the order. That local support is one more reason to buy it here rather than import it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the reMarkable Paper Pro price in India?

About ₹65,000 on Amazon.in for the bundle with the Marker Plus pen, and about ₹79,000 with the Book Folio cover added.

Is reMarkable sold in India?

Yes. reMarkable India sells the Paper Pro and the reMarkable 2 on Amazon.in.

Should I import a reMarkable Paper Pro from the US?

No. The US bundle price converts to about what Amazon.in charges, and duty takes the import to around ₹84,000. Buying here is cheaper and gets you a local seller.

What is the reMarkable Paper Pro Move price in India?

About ₹62,000 delivered from Amazon US at its $499 price, with duty. Indian importer stores start at about ₹65,000, and reMarkable has an Amazon.in page for it as well.

Does the reMarkable Paper Pro have a bookstore?

No. You load your own files through the app or cloud sync. If you read a lot of store-bought books, the Kindle Scribe suits you better.

Do I need a reMarkable Connect subscription?

No. The tablet works without one. Connect adds extra features on top, so start with the free setup and decide later.

Verdict

If you mostly write and want to buy locally, the reMarkable Paper Pro is the one. Get it on Amazon.in from reMarkable India at about ₹65,000, because importing it only adds duty. If you want it smaller, look at the Paper Pro Move. If you read as much as you write, take the Kindle Scribe and order it from Amazon US.
