Quick answer: yes, you can buy Boox tablets in India. The Note Air6 C lands at about ₹72,000 from Amazon US with duty, and the Go Color 7 is about ₹63,000 on Amazon.in or about ₹36,000 imported.
Boox tablets run Android, so you can install whichever reading apps you already use, and that’s the reason to pick one over a Kindle. Your Kindle books, your Kobo books, PDFs from work and a notes app all live on one e-ink screen. The two I’d look at are the 10.3-inch Note Air6 C and the 7-inch Go Color 7 (Gen II).
Onyx, the company behind Boox, doesn’t run an Indian store, but there are three easy ways to get one here: Amazon.in, Amazon US and Boox’s own shop. Below is what each tablet costs through each route, how the orders work, how to set a Boox up, and what to buy instead if you don’t need Android.
Boox price in India
The Note Air6 C is $579.99 on Amazon US. At about ₹94.5 to the dollar that’s roughly ₹54,800, and personal imports pay about 31% in customs duty and IGST (10% basic duty, a 10% surcharge on that duty, and 18% IGST on the total). That brings it to around ₹72,000. The Go Color 7 is $289.99 in the US, or about ₹36,000 with duty, while Amazon.in has it at about ₹63,000. Amazon US adds the duty to the checkout total, so the number you see before paying is the number you pay.
| Where | What you pay | Delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon.in: Go Color 7 | About ₹63,000 (4G, 64 GB version) | 2 to 5 days |
| Amazon US: Go Color 7 | $289.99 list, about ₹36,000 delivered with duty | 10 to 15 days |
| Amazon US: Note Air6 C | $579.99 list, about ₹72,000 delivered with duty | 10 to 15 days |
| Boox shop: both | Boox’s dollar price, plus duty you pay as the importer | 7 to 15 business days after dispatch |
The buttons below open the Go Color 7 on Amazon.in and the Note Air6 C on Amazon US.
Boox Note Air6 C
The Boox I’d pick for a mix of books, PDFs and handwritten notes. Big colour screen, pen in the box.
Pros
- 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 colour e-ink screen with 4,096 colours
- Pen3 stylus included
- 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a microSD slot
- Dual Notes shows two documents side by side
- 3,700 mAh battery
Cons
- Costs about twice the Go Color 7
- Colour e-ink is muted, as on every colour e-reader
- Android needs a little tuning per app
- The magnetic keyboard cover is extra
A 10.3-inch page is big enough for most PDFs and textbooks without constant zooming, which is where the smaller Boox models fall short. The Pen3 comes in the box, so you can mark up documents and keep handwritten notes from day one. A microSD slot means a large comics or PDF library doesn’t eat into the 64 GB.
Boox moved the Note Air6 C to a new octa-core chip and says page turns are up to 40% faster than on the Note Air 5 C, which was $529.99. The new software adds two features I’d actually use. Dual Notes puts two documents next to each other, handy for notes beside a lecture PDF. Talk Insights records a conversation, transcribes it and summarises it.
You order it from Amazon US, where Boox sells through its BOOX Official store, or from Boox’s own shop. If you plan to type long notes, the magnetic keyboard cover is sold separately.
Boox Go Color 7 (Gen II)
The cheaper way into Boox colour. A 7-inch screen that suits books and light notes.
Pros
- About half the US price of the Note Air6 C
- 7-inch colour e-ink screen
- Active stylus support
- Android, so Kindle, Kobo and other reading apps install normally
Cons
- A small page for writing
- The InkSense Plus pen is sold separately
- Colour is muted
Seven inches is the classic e-reader size, and it’s what I’d choose if reading comes first and notes are an occasional thing. It works with the InkSense Plus stylus, so you can annotate and scribble, though a small page limits how much you’ll want to write. For long note-taking sessions, the Note Air is the better tool.
The Amazon.in listing is a 4G, 64 GB version at about ₹63,000, delivered in a few days. Importing it from Amazon US comes to about ₹36,000 with duty, so compare the two totals and decide how much the faster delivery is worth to you.
Note Air6 C vs Go Color 7
| Tablet | Screen | Pen in the box | US price | Delivered to India with duty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Boox Note Air6 C | 10.3-inch colour | Yes, Pen3 | $579.99 | About ₹72,000 |
| Boox Go Color 7 (Gen II) | 7-inch colour | No | $289.99 | About ₹36,000 |
Pick by how much you write. Mostly reading with the odd note, the Go Color 7. Reading plus real note-taking or PDF markup, the Note Air6 C.
How to buy Onyx Boox in India
Option 1: Amazon.in
Amazon.in has a Go Color 7 listing, the 4G, 64 GB version. It’s the quickest route, with Indian delivery, an Indian invoice and Amazon’s normal return window. For the Note Air6 C, Amazon.in has accessories but not the tablet, so use one of the two options below.
Option 2: Amazon US
Boox sells both tablets on Amazon US through its BOOX Official store. This is how an order to India goes:
- Set your delivery address on Amazon.com to your Indian address. The product page then tells you whether that listing ships to India.
- Pick the BOOX Official offer at or near the list price: $579.99 for the Note Air6 C, $289.99 for the Go Color 7.
- At checkout, Amazon adds shipping and an import fee deposit. The total on that screen is what you pay.
- When the parcel reaches India, the courier sends an SMS and an email with a KYC link. On my orders that was Aramex. Upload your Aadhaar or PAN and that step is done.
- The tablet reaches your door in about 10 to 15 days from the order.
If the US page says it can’t ship to your address, use the Amazon.in listing for the Go Color 7, or the Boox shop for the Note Air6 C. I’ve written up every step in how I buy gadgets from Amazon US.
Option 3: the Boox shop
Boox’s official shop is run by Onyx International in China and ships worldwide, from Shenzhen or from its US and EU warehouses. Delivery takes 7 to 15 business days after dispatch. On these orders you’re the importer: the price you pay Boox doesn’t include Indian duty, and you settle that when the parcel arrives. Budget about 31% on top of the tablet’s price, the same rate as an Amazon US order.
Setting it up in India
On models that include the Play Store, sign in with your usual Google account and install Kindle, Kobo, Google Play Books or whatever holds your library. They work like they do on your phone. Boox’s Android is a trimmed build, so expect to set a refresh mode for each app: a faster mode for apps you scroll and a cleaner one for books. Ten minutes of that makes the tablet feel far quicker.
If you’re filling the Note Air’s microSD slot, my microSD card picks work just as well here. And if you came to Boox for drawing rather than notes, a pen display from my drawing tablets list will be faster and show true colour.
Alternatives you can buy in India
If you want something that fits in a pocket, the Boox Palma 2 Pro is a phone-sized colour Boox with Android 15 and 5G. Amazon.in lists it, and I cover it in my Boox Palma in India guide.
If you don’t need Android apps, the reMarkable Paper Pro is the simplest big notebook to buy here. reMarkable’s Indian arm sells it on Amazon.in for about ₹65,000. My reMarkable Paper Pro India guide has the details.
If you read more than you write and your books are on Kindle, the Kindle Scribe is the better reader. My full ranking is in best e-ink tablet in India.
Warranty and support
Boox gives one year of warranty on core devices bought from its main shop, and two years from its European store. For an Amazon order, the warranty terms are on the listing, and Amazon’s return window covers a faulty unit in the usual way. Keep your invoice, since any claim starts with whoever sold you the tablet.
